MADE-TO-ORDER "YURNS"
Our Made-to-Order YURNS are the signature memorials featured in our online store. Each piece is crafted using a ceramic process called slip casting—where liquid clay, or “slip,” is poured into plaster molds. As the clay dries, it forms a uniform shell along the mold’s inner surface, creating a precise hollow form that’s later refined, fired, and finished by hand.
For these designs, we first sculpt the original clay models and then create custom plaster molds to reproduce them faithfully in clay. Every cast is individually detailed, fired in our kilns, and finished with layers of hand-applied color—using a blend of acrylics, enamels, oxide washes, metallic waxes, and protective sealers.
This hands-on process means no two YURNS are ever exactly alike. Subtle variations in detail and finish make each piece unique, giving you a memorial that feels personal, expressive, and heirloom-quality, rather than mass-produced.

Because each piece is fully sculpted by hand, custom commissions take additional time to complete, but the result is a singular tribute crafted in collaboration with your family’s vision.
