Various processing methods by service providers can result in differing volumes for people of equal weight. Industry standard states that one cubic-inch of volume is needed per pound of the person’s total weight. So, if a person weighed 150 lbs., and you would like to inurn the whole individual, industry recommends an urn that is 150 cubic-inches or larger.
 

Smaller keepsake sized urns are a good solution for those who wish to scatter or share portions of the cremains.

If inurning all the cremains is important to you, please use the 1 to 1 ratio for peace of mind.

If needed, most local funeral homes will gladly assist you in this process- you may need to make arrangements ahead of time.

Each memorial sculpture is produced with an adequate opening concealed on the backside or bottom of the piece, and comes with accompanying closure hatch cut from the ceramic body.

It is recommended to inurn the cremains by keeping them within the plastic bag provided by your funeral professional. In order to place the bag within a memorial sculpture, it may be necessary to move the wire tie and tag toward the top of the bag. You'll want to distribute the material throughout the length of the bag, so that it may fit through the opening.

To permanently seal the vessel, simply affix a bead of permanent adhesive (such as super glue or silicone adhesive) to the edge of the closure hatch and set into place.

Each YURN is produced with an adequate opening concealed on the backside or bottom of the piece, and comes with accompanying closure hatch cut, from the ceramic body. If needed, most local funeral homes will assist you in the inurning process- you may need to make arrangements ahead of time.

• Placing the urn on a pillow or towel will help protect finish during inurnment. It is recommended to inurn the cremains by keeping them within a plastic bag, we suggest using a secondary pliable bag. Work the bag into the corners, so that the ashes can distribute into the deeper areas of the vessel. A funnel will help to fill into those deeper areas. As you fill, gently shift back and forth, so that ashes may settle and distribute evenly within the space. Use tie tag from your funeral provider to close the bag.To permanently seal the vessel, simply affix a bead of permanent adhesive (gel super glue or silicone adhesive) to the edge of the closure hatch and set into place. • All of our wall-mounted pieces are constructed with a high-temperature wire hanger that is fused within the ceramic body during the kiln-fire. We weight test the hanging system to 20 pounds of downward strength. Use care when selecting a wall location. Use an adequate sized (1.5”+) screw driven into a wooden “stud” in the wall of your home. It is essential to drive the screw into wood stud for it to hold the weight of the urn when filled. If the desired location is not convenient where a stud falls, then use a drywall hanger. Determine location where bottom of hook will be, insert hook ¼ inch higher, firmly push hook while twisting back and forth until tip penetrates drywall completely, rotate hook and push through hole until it sits against wall.

• PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE. We are not responsible for damage caused by failure to properly hang the vessel with the greatest of care.

Dust regularly and clean with mild soap and water.

Although the ceramic material would weather the elements in an outdoor environment, direct exposure to the finish would likely show signs of wear over time. If placing sculpture outdoors, it is recommended that you shelter it from direct sun and precipitation.
